Inner conflicts, overwhelming emotions, and recurring thoughts often cannot be fully expressed, understood, and resolved solely through conversations. This is precisely where art therapy methods come into play. Through perception-, mindfulness-, and emotion-based interventions, various senses are stimulated, reaching areas of the brain that promote creativity and enable new experiences, thoughts, and feelings. The focus is not on the end result of the artwork but on the process of creation (and the experiences, perceptions, and emotions during that process), and the insights gained through reflection (which can arise from the artwork but are not required to).
